So excited that BAND OF MAGICIANS is setting up residency at The Tropicana Las Vegas. Shows will be every night at 7pm (except Tuesdays). I will be packing my bags to head to over in less than a month and will finally be able to share this show with my American friends. SO excited. Tix are on sale now. See you there!

June 16th, 2015

I’ve been a busy boy! I have been setting up the new tour of BAND OF MAGICIANS (which will feature the incredible talents of Ben Hanlin, Brett Loudermilk and Adam Mada) which is heading to NZ soon and also filming a new Magic TV Pilot across America which has been really exciting. You can check out all the fun places I’ve been to on instagram – I was fortunate enough to visit North and South Carolina, Virginia, Philly, NY, Vegas and LA on that trip meeting and interviewing some of the world’s greatest magicians). I also took a trip to Vietnam which was an absolute treat.

I’m writing this from my place in Bondi where the sun has been shining and the magic has been plentiful.

I look forward to seeing you soon.

James xo

P.S. I hope you can share my happiness knowing that I have been enjoying all the wonderful donuts in all the magical places I’ve been.

It has been a wild 5 months. I’ve been flying from LA to Sydney so much that it was easier to stay in Sydney for a little while. Though, I write this just as I’m about to head back to LA, and visit Iowa, Memphis, Colorado, Las Vegas, Delaware, NY and Detroit. I have some very interesting events I’ll be performing at and am very much look forward to seeing and eating more of America.

I was extremely lucky to be able to recently work with advertising agency M&C Saatchi and CommBank for their new credit card campaign which was a pleasure to be a part of (special thanks to Josh Whiteman, Mark Mayer and Blake Vogt). It was one of the biggest crew’s I’ve ever worked with and I’m really proud of the results. You can see some of the ads here and here.

Most exciting news is that BAND OF MAGICIANS is getting back together for our next season in Melbourne, Australia! We’ll be playing a two week season at Crown Casino and I couldn’t be more excited to be working again with my good friends and incredible magicians Justin Willman, Nate Staniforth and Justin Flom.

Tix available by clicking here.

Hope you’re having a #bestdayever

I was asked to be a guest on The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson last night and I had a blast. I’ve been a big fan of Craig’s and his show for a long time –  I found out this son had seen some of my tricks online and that’s how I ended up on the show. I couldn’t have been more excited (as you can see by the grin I can’t get off my face during the spot) and Craig was such fun to work with. If you’re in the US, you can see the whole ep here or if you’re anywhere else in the world, click this link. You can also see some BTS pics on my insta. Thanks Craig!!!

I am sooooo excited to announce that my new short film, ‘The Magician’ is now released! You can WATCH IT HERE for free (warning: coarse language). If you enjoy, please do pass it on!

I’ve just come up for air after 6 weeks of being completely immersed in BAND OF MAGICIANS. It was the most exciting and special time of my performance life thus far and I can’t wait to do it all over again. I want to thank everyone in Sydney that came out to see the show (many from interstate) – I appreciate you all greatly and am so thankful you have supported yet another show that I’m in. I’m thrilled to report that the show was a commercial and critical success and that we’ll be touring in the near future.

For those who didn’t get a chance to see it live, here’s a little insight and some pics.

I can’t wait to update with more news on the show in more detail.

Hi friends!

What a cracker of a year it has been. I arrived in Sydney last week to a plethora of magic ads, billboards and TV promo’s – not only for BAND OF MAGICIANS, but SO many magic shows. It truly is an exciting time to be a magician in Australia right now. I was honoured to be on the front cover of Spectrum in the Sydney Morning Herald this weekend as they discussed the new breed of magician. You can read the full story by Stephanie Bunbury here.

And to top it off…it’s Xmas! I LOVE being in Sydney this time of year with the family. I’m so grateful to be able to come home every year. Wherever you are and whatever you’re celebrating this holiday season, I want to wish you all a #bestdayever with those you love.

Much love,

James xo

If you’ve ever met me in person or spoken to me on the phone, you’ll know I’m excited by default. It has been a little tough trying to contain my ridiculous excitement over the last couple of weeks while rehearsing for BAND OF MAGICIANS. It’s truly an honour to be able to work with some of my best mates on a project which has been coming to boil over the last 6-12 months.

With less than 4 weeks till opening night, we’re absolutely boiling. I really cannot wait to be sharing this show with a home crowd for its world premiere in Sydney. If you haven’t booked tickets already, you should. The show was made for families, so bring the gang out for a great night (or day).

I’m privileged to be working with such incredibly talented magicians (Justin Willman, Nate Staniforth and Justin Flom) and my creative dream-team – Director, Craig Ilott (Smoke & Mirrors, Hedwig & The Angry Inch), Set Designer, Peter England (King Kong, Walking With Dinosaurs), Creative Consultant, Blake Vogt (David Copperfield, Dynamo, David Blaine), Film Director, Adam Scott-Franklin and thrilled to be working again with Sound Designer, Steve Francis (he’s done everything) and lighting designer, Matt Marshall (who I was lucky enough to work with on Lying Cheating Bastard).

See you in Sydney!

These last few weeks have been pretty full on. I’ve traveled more than I think I ever have and it has been nothing short of exhilarating. Here it is in point form…

– Our first week of rehearsals for ‘Band Of Magicians’ was more than exciting and I can’t wait to share the show with you (this is the band after we wrapped at my local Jones Bar).

– I went to North Carolina (had incredible pie), New York (got to finally meet up with Dan White and see Brooklyn), Las Vegas (where we shot new scenes for ‘Band Of Magicians’ with Justin Flom), LA, Dallas (where apparently it’s fine to smoke at restaurants still?), Sydney, Melbourne (had no time for pics) and now back in LA for what will be our last week of rehearsals for ‘Band Of Magicians‘.

– I took a 3 day trip to Sydney and Melbourne from LA for a show at Crown and to talk about all things ‘Band Of Magicians’ with the TODAY Show (Australia). Karl and Lisa were quite a lot of fun to play with (and as it turns out, Karl used to live a street away from me in West Hollywood!).

– I arrived at LAX at 9.30am in time to cook Thanksgiving dinner. I love this American Holiday so much and am very grateful I was able to share it with such amazing people.

If you’re in Australia, be sure to come see our show at Sydney Festival from 9th-19th January during its World Premiere.

Hey friends,

I’m really excited to be able to share the brand new trailer for ‘THE MAGICIAN’ (Directed by Adam Scott-Franklin). There were a lot of people working really hard to bring it to life, and I’m pumped to be able to share a little piece with you!
