POOF!
SECRETS OF A MAGICIAN
POOF! Secrets of a Magician had its World Premiere in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, featured in the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, and a had a sold out season at Sydney Festival in the Drama Theatre at the Sydney Opera House.
“Galea’s presence is electric.”
- BROADWAY WORLD
POOF! - Secrets of a Magician is an outrageous cabaret of wizardry, music and comedy that peels back the magician’s curtain.
Master showman James Galea reveals all in a hilarious, confessional adults-only show that poses questions-in-song such as Are All Magicians Gay? and the hit singalong All Psychics Are C&*ts. Galea spills the tea on the enigmas of magic and psychics, the fall-out when chicanery goes wrong and what happens when you know all the secrets and lose touch with the magic in your own life.
With infectious energy, a deft touch on the grand piano and awe-inspiring sleight of hand, Galea spearheads a new brand of modern magic show.
It’s magical. It’s musical. It’s outrageous.

“His secrets will have you laughing – possibly laughing-crying – and singing too. Singing the C-word no less. In the Sydney Opera House.”
-THEATRE NOW
“James Galea has made a career out of sleight-of-hand and illusion work - and his skills in this department are insane.
But it’s his singing, piano work, storytelling and stand-up that shine…”
- THE ADVERTISER
“You can’t help being taken along for the ride”
-THEATRE NOW
“This evening cements him as a wonderful cabaret performer, with a variety of talents. He uses these skills to share personal stories of failure and success, where the audience experiences laughter, opinions, heart felt warmth with some superb magic.”
